The launch of iPhone 7 won’t be official for some more time, however, leaks reveal that the final design of Apple’s 2016 smartphones will be quite similar to iPhone 6 series. Even though iPhone makers are not making a radical design, yet it will not be boring.

Nevertheless, latest rumors from Japanese news siteNikkei, marked by9to5Mac, states that the “iPhone 7” will essentially be a new member of the iPhone 6 family instead of a brand new iPhone generation with a new model number, like “7.” This is an absolutely new move by Apple, however if other rumors about the next iPhone were true, it wouldn’t be totally unusual.

Meanwhile we are uncertain about what it’ll be called, Lets call it the next iPhone.

Two different models expected with different screen sizes

The next iPhone will mostly come in two sizes just like the iPhone 6 generation, comprising the usual 4.7-inch screen model and a Plus, model with a 5.5-inch screen.

People studying science and mathematics, love to calculate things and they simply adore calculating for “assumed situations”. Scientists study earth and its structure on a regular basis and a lot is known about our very own Mother Earth as of now. This time around, the maths community has a very interesting thing for you.

Assume that you were to fall through our Earth from North Pole to South Pole, then how long would it take exactly? Well well… don’t look at us that way… we are not ‘actually’ making you fall through that distance, we are asking you to ‘assume’! So instead of making you fall through that space actually, we will make you fall mathematically with certain assumptions.

• It was assumed that the Earth has got a hole through it and it goes from north pole to the south.
• There is no air in the hole otherwise you would reach terminal velocity quite quickly and you will move too slowly.
• It was assumed that the Earth is perfectly spherical and has the same density everywhere (This is to note that the gravitational attraction from any spherically symmetric object is the same as if all its mass were concentrated at the centre of the object)
• The parts closer to the sphere attract more and the farther ones attract less but in whole the gravitational pull averages out)
• So inside the Earth, any parts that are farther away from the centre than you are; basically cancel out each other so that they create a smaller sphere trimming out the outer layers.
• Assuming the earth also behaves like this shaved sphere, we come to the assumption that the shaved earth’s mass is simply proportional to its volume, which is proportional to its radius cubed and we safely assume that all the mass is concentrated at a single point in the middle.
• The gravitational attraction between two objects is proportional to their masses but inversely proportional to the distance between them (squared)
• Calculating on the basis of all the assumptions and mathematical formulae, we arrive at the result- 42 minutes. Yes this is the time you will take to fall through the Earth from North Pole to South Pole.

The calculations done above are based on the assumption that the earth has same density throughout, but if you chart the more detailed density profile then you will come to the more accurate falling-through-the-earth time, which is 38 minutes and 6 seconds from pole to pole. Apart from the mathematics, the physics behind this fall is similar to that of a moving pendulum.

This means, as you fall, the mass beneath you decreases more quickly as the average gravitational pull on you from that mass increases. But the mass decreases more quickly, so as you approach the centre of the Earth, you start going faster and faster but the force pulling you towards the centre getting smaller. Common sense denotes the ability to demonstrate effective and efficient judgement. Do you remember the movie iRobot? That Will Smith movie had delved deeper into the scenario of Robots taking over the humans and that too in a well calculated manner. The movie wasn’t of course the first in this genre.

There have always been discussions and arguments about the probability of robots taking over the humans and the earth and till now they all have been based on cinematic or some fiction novels. Even if you think that ‘robots taking over the world’ is a far-fetched idea then the very recent ‘robots taking over our jobs’ isn’t that unconvincing. Robots have indeed entered in various spheres of our life. But do you wonder why do we call a robot a ‘robot’?

The word robot derives its roots from the Czech word ‘robotnik’ which means ‘slave’. ‘Robotnik’ comes from ‘rabota’ which is an Old Church Slavonic word for servitude. The English language first used the word ‘robot’ in a translation of Czech playwright Karel Capek’s 1920 sci-fi drama ‘RUR’ or ‘Rosum’s Universal Robots’. Capek’s play described a companythat manufactures and sells workers that look and act like humans, but lack souls.

The intelligent servants then rebel against their human masters. And this is something that has been recreated in many films and novels long after that. Whether robots will snatch away our jobs or not, whether they will take over our world or not is a question better left unanswered because as long as humans aren’t too dependent on robots and robots aren’t too intelligent, the chances are quite bleak.

Let us start with this simple game which was featured in National Geographic. It has been claimed that 80% of the kids below 10 years can answer this puzzle in just one look. There is a picture of a yellow bus having similar shape at the front and in the back. The question is simple; which way the bus is moving? Left or right?

To the left? Or to the right?

Let’s put on our thinking gears. Is it sounding too impossible to tell? Well, you need some clues, maybe? Here we go…….

Adults will not get it as they tend to think in a complicated way. They will overanalyse and overthink and will always argue siting complex things.
