July 20, 1969 was a red letter day for humankind as, on this day, Apollo 11carried first humans on the for a Moon landing, Neil ArmstrongandBuzz Aldrin, were the two Americans who landed on the moon soil. Armstrong was the first to step onto the lunar surface and he spent about two and a half hours outside the spacecraft, Aldrin joined him, and together they collected 47.5 pounds (21.5 kg) of lunar material for return to Earth. A third crew of the mission,Michael Collins, controlled thecommand spacecraftalone in lunar orbit until Armstrong and Aldrin returned to it just under a day later for the trip back to Earth.

moon landingMany casts doubt about the Moon landing. The first book about the subject,Bill Kaysing‘sWe Never Went to the Moon: America’s Thirty Billion Dollar Swindle, was written in 1974, two years after the Apollo Moon flights had ended, andthe book was published in 1976.

Moon Landing (album)

Moon Landing is the fourth studio album from British singer-songwriter James Blunt , released on 18 October 2013. The album is the follow

Although a pleasant listen, James Blunt’s latest album Moon Landing isn’t a particularly innovative one.

On the face value of it, people will wonder why a country will arrange a fake event like this at all? The question is needed to be evaluated in the backdrop of the cold war when two superpowers, theUnited Statesand the Soviet Union competed for technological superiority. Some believe that sending astronauts into outer space and onto the moon would be incredibly expensive and the U.S. didn’t have enough money to complete the project. Faking the same is believed to send a strong message of technological supremacy to the Soviet Union !

2001-a-space-odyssey-wallpapers_21252_1152x8641Doubters that filmmaker Stanley Kubrick could have helped NASA to arrange the fake the lunar landing, This acquisition was easy to make given the fact that during his 1968 film2001: A Space Odesseyhe proved that the technology existed back then to artificially create a space-like set.

Though a lot of argument and counter argument has gone into it. It is still interesting to discuss the points again:

Moon Landing: arguments and counter arguments

In all the photographs there were no star in the background

The argument is simple, as themoonhas no atmosphere, there should be millions of stars twinkling in the background of these photos. Or is it that the director forgot to “turn on” the stars?

800px-Apollo15LunarRoverThe counter argument is for you to judge as we Muggles didn’t visit lunar surface. They say that all the landing happened during the day and thelightfrom thesunreflected from the surface of the moon is too bright for anycamerato capture something in the distance — it practically washed out any light coming from distant stars in the sky. It is the same argument why that stars are harder to see in big cities than in wide open fields. Valid logic, but the pitch darkness in the sky (in the photographs)reminds us about the stars!! Bellow is a photograph taken through UV camera by Apollo 16 mission which shows stars in the sky.

Engraved “C” on M(oon) rock

A (in)famous moon rock that appears to have the letter “C” written or stamped on it. It is as if that a wrong side of a prop stone is accidentally exposed to the camera. The letter C is written in such a smooth and symmetrical way that nobody can argue that it is naturally created.

NASA claims the total thing a photographic glitch — it may be a stray hair that found its way into the developing process and there’s even a possibility that someone did it intentionally either to mark it for some purpose or mischievously.

Different shadow lengths, just as it happens in a studio !

Even inside a studio, there are mechanism to make the lighting uniform. In the studio, multiple light sources are used to enhance light conditions. Unbalanced lighting is manifested by multiple shadows of different lengths. Is it possible that the movie director erred in his lighting system?

It is argued the landing surface was rough with hilly landscapes, which are mainly responsible for all kinds of non-uniform shadow lengths irrespective of where you stand. A picture taken in the backdrop of a snow-covered hill will produce the same kind of effect

The American flags should naturally flap in pride back in the earth but why should it appear to “flap” in the breeze on the Moon?

Themoon, doesn’t have an atmosphere at all and hence there is no air to ruffle the flags. Another glitch in the direction?

The flag was constructed with a taut wire running through the fabric along its top. Without the wire, the flag would drop inevitably. The flapping is caused when astronauts were trying to put it in soil but twisting the poles.
