When Shatrughan Sinha cried like a baby for not being able to marry Reena Roy!
Yesteryear actors Reena Roy and Shatrughan Sinha were in a romantic relationship and this fact is quite known in and outside the film industry. Both the actors had done many films together and had developed fondness for each other on the sets of these films. Even Shatrughan Sinha had accepted their relationship in his biography ‘Anything But Khamosh’. The two actors were deeply in love with each other, so much so that when Sonakshi Sinha became an actress people noticed how she had an uncanny resemblance to Reena Roy. Some even claimed that she was Reena and Shatrughan’s love child.

The affair between Reena and Shatrughan is a part of his memoir where he details the whole thing while quoting film producer Pahlaj Nihalani. Pahlaj said: “After Hathkadi, I was keen to repeat the same setup of Shatru, Reena, Sanjeev Kumar for my next film, Aandhi Toofan. But Reena said a firm ‘No’ to my offer. She said to me, ‘Tell your friend to make up his mind. If he gives me an answer, I’ll do the next film with him. Otherwise, it’s a no. I’ve made up my mind that if he doesn’t marry me, I’m going to get married in eight days’.”

Pahlaj said that he conveyed this message to Shatrughan and saw him break down. “He called her up and cried like a baby. For the first time, I saw him cry; he was very emotionally involved with her. That was the one time I spoke up and told him, ‘Let go, let her get married’,” Pahlaj told Sinha. Shatrughan finally took his advice and broke up with her to let her marry and to save his own marriage with Poonam Sinha. Reena Roy then married Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan and moved to Pakistan. Though her marriage to Mohsin was short-lived and they got divorced a few years after the wedding. They share a daughter Jannat (also known as Sanam). Well, love makes us do strange things and the problem is, nobody can help falling in help!
