What happens during reincarnation?
Reincarnation is the philosophical or religious concept that the non-physical essence of a living being begins a new life in a different physical form or body after biological death. In most beliefs involving reincarnation, the soul of a human being is immortal and does not disperse after the physical body has perished. According to reincarnation, the soul simply passes on from one body to another. Reincarnation (punarjanma) is a central tenet of the Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism; although there are Hindu and Pagan groups who do not believe in reincarnation, instead believing in an afterlife.

There is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove reincarnation, but there are many people who believe in it. Some people believe that they have memories of past lives, while others believe that they have been able to communicate with spirits of people who have died. There are also many people who believe that they have been able to see signs of reincarnation in their own lives, such as having a strong affinity for a particular culture or country, or having talents or abilities that they did not learn in this lifetime.

The process of reincarnation is different for different people, but there are some common beliefs about what happens.

The soul leaves the body After death, the soul is believed to leave the body and travel to a different realm, such as the Bardo, or the realm of the dead. In this realm, the soul is said to review its past life and prepare for its next incarnation.
The soul chooses a new body Once the soul has completed its review, it is said to choose a new body in which to be reborn. The choice of the new body is said to be influenced by the soul’s karma, or its accumulated actions and experiences from past lives.
The soul enters the new body Once the soul has chosen a new body, it is said to enter the body and begin a new life. The new life is said to be a chance for the soul to learn from its past mistakes and to grow spiritually.

It is important to note that these are just some of the common beliefs about reincarnation. There is no one right or wrong way to believe in reincarnation, and each person’s experience is unique. There are some other beliefs too that are associated with reincarnation in various religions and cultures:

  • The soul may have a period of time between lives, in which it reflects on its past life and prepares for its next.
  • The soul may choose its own new body, or it may be chosen for it by a higher power.
  • The soul may be reborn into a different species, such as an animal or a plant.
  • The soul may be reborn into a different realm, such as a heaven or a hell.

Ultimately, what happens during reincarnation is a mystery. There is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove it, so it is a matter of personal belief because where science ends, faith or belief steps in!
