This Film Is The Biggest Flop In The History Of Indian Cinema, Lost Rs. 225 Crores!
Making expensive films comes with the inherent risk of making it even more difficult to recover production expenditures. Because of this, many individuals were hesitant to proclaim Brahmastra a hit despite the fact that it grossed Rs 400 crore worldwide. This is because the film’s production expenditure was so high. Because of this, several of the most expensive Indian films that have ever been created have failed to do well at the box office, and the film that has been dubbed the “biggest flop in the history of Indian cinema” has lost a staggering 225 crore rupees.

The movie with the worst box office results in the history of Bollywood and Indian cinema

‘Adipurush’ is the movie that has experienced the greatest amount of financial failure at the box office in India. Adipurush was reportedly produced with a budget of 550 crore, and it made a net profit of 288 crore in India, in addition to another claimed 35-38 crore net internationally. This results in the picture having a worldwide net gross of around Rs 325 crore; yet, this indicates that the film had an incredible Rs 225 crore net loss. However, this amount does not take into account taxes and is therefore larger than the international gross earnings of the film (slightly over Rs 350 crore).

Aadipurush

The epic Ramayan served as the inspiration for Adipurush, which received a lot of backlash for being only a loose version of the original text, which is revered by Hindus. The movie was widely lambasted by critics, and there were numerous calls for it to be suppressed or avoided altogether. It has been said that the film’s creators, the director Om Raut, and the dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir offended religious sensibilities, and several lawsuits have been brought against them in various courts. As a direct consequence of this, director Om Raut and other members of the making team vanished from the public spotlight for several weeks after the movie was released. The lead characters in the movie were played by Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan as Ram, Sita and Ravan respectively.

Other significant failures in the history of Indian films

Before Adipurush came along, the film Radhe Shyam held the record for the largest failure in the history of Indian cinema. The film had a total box office loss of almost Rs 170 crore. It just so happens that Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starred together in that movie as the main characters. Other major motion pictures that were unsuccessful at the box office include
Samrat Prithviraj (loss of Rs 140 crore)
Shamshera (loss of Rs 100 crore)
Telugu film Acharya (loss of Rs 80 crore)
Kannada film Kabzaa (loss of Rs 80 crore)
Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha (loss of Rs 70 crore) and
Thugs of Hindostan (loss of Rs 60 crore).

These facts and figures prove that audience is the king of all when it comes to movies and audiences are not foolish. They would not watch any stupidity in the name of VFX or religious sentiments.
