Do you know Felix Baumgartner? If you don’t then you should have… but still we would like to enrich your knowledge by telling you that he is the man who set an unbelievable world record around four years ago in October 2012. He is a man of courage and determination as he is the first ever man to jump off from a helium balloon making him the record holder for ‘maximum vertical speed without drogue, highest exit altitude for a parachutist and greatest vertical distance of freefall.’ If all these facts don’t make you dizzy then let us add one more thing for you- his Epic Freefall was at about 127,000 feet. (Watch this video of the freefall if you had missed it earlier:

A Bulgarian artist, dfacto, got so inspired by this freefall that as an ode to the man and his super courageous act, he shared a concept design of a space re-entry suit. The picture is enough to show that the suit is super smart and looks really functional if ever scientists decide to turn it into a reality.

Regarding the designing of the space suit, dfacto had his own reasons and he expressed his inspiration in the words: “Watching the Felix Baumgartner jump was one of the highlights of the year for me. I was really blown away and this is my homage to that moment: a theoretical look at what advances his jump could bring for space exploration and astronaut survivability.

In this case, it’s a specialized hardened suit that can allow for re-entry from low earth orbit. Not a jump you want to make, but when you have to, you will want to be wearing this suit.”

Needless to say that the artist has put in a lot of thought in designing this suit and people actually like his creation citing that it looked like an excellent concept worth adopting by top space agencies like NASA. Dfacto, usually keeps posting designs for weapons, robots and futuristic artcrafts on his DeviantArt gallery. The man has really got something when it comes to designing. This proves that how one great thing inspires other good things.
