Follow These Important Rules Before Wearing Rudraksha
Rudraksha is synonymous with Lord Shiva. These are actually the dried seeds of the Rudraksha tree and the meaning of the word Rudraksha is ‘Tears of Shiva’. It is believed that wearing this bead can bring peace and prosperity in your life . It can be can be worn by anyone irrespective of cast, gender, religion, etc. but there are some simple rules that need to be followed before and while wearing a Rudraksha. These are :
1. There are many types of Rudraksha from single faced to 21 faced. Mostly people in the family wear five faced Rudraksha while children below 12 years of age wear six faced Rudraksha. It is a powerful bead and should be worn based on the prescription given by an astrologer or pundit – different people wear different types of Rudraksh because of the different problems in their lives.
2. Anyone can wear Rudraksha but it should always be worn around the neck and not as a bracelet or wrist band or waist band, etc.
3. Before you wear a Rudraksha for the first time, it should be conditioned by first soaking it in ghee for 24 hours and then soaking it next in milk for 24 hours.
4. Covering the Rudraksha with Vibhuti (holy ash), which aids in maintaining its vibrancy, should be done after the first conditioning of the Rudraksha has been completed.
5. In order to properly string the Rudraksha, you should use a thread that is either composed of undyed cotton or raw silk. It is also possible to wear it in combination with gold, silver, or copper and silver; however, the Rudraksha should not be cut or damaged in any way during this procedure; instead, it should be connected with the additional jewellery.
6. Women can wear Rudraksha during menstruation.
7. Never place a Rudraksha on the floor.
8. You can have cold water baths while wearing Rudraksha but no chemical soap should touch it. You can remove it before taking a bath.
9. Keep reenergizing the Rudraksha with ghee and milk every three to six months.
10. Since Rudraksha are holy bead, you should never lend them to anyone for wearing or borrow from anyone to water.
