But now the new development is that Aspartame will reportedly be labelled as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” for the first time by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the WHO’s cancer research arm, in July, according to sources cited by Reuters. Aspartame’s impacts and safety are now being examined by the Joint Organisation Expert Committee on Food Additives (JEFCA) and the IARC.
