Apple is really struggling in every sense of the word. After its first ever decline in iPhone sales and China’s ban on its services in China, now LeEco CEO Jia Yueting calls the company as ‘outdated’ in a recent interview with CNBC.

Talking about iPhone falling behind in the sales, Jia said: “In CHina you can see that Apple has already begun to lose the rapid sales growth momentum. One of the most important reasons is that Apple’s innovation has become extremely slow.” Citing the example of iPhone SE, Jia called it a product of very low level technology. This is to note that a few days ago, LeEco had announced its first electric car which it intends to call ‘LeSee’. LeSee has been touted as the rival to Tesla Model X.

In the interview, Jia also took a dig at the iPhone giant saying that the next generation of mobile internet will be more open, more eco-system oriented instead of being a closed loop so it is actually an irony that Apple’s over-dominance, lack of internet thinking and closed off nature of its systems, hindered innovation in the mobile industry. He also criticised Apple for having individual apps which he believes was good when the mobile network speeds were not fast enough because the same thing now acts as an obstacle for the user. Jia’s attitude towards Apple is not a secret. In past he had not shied away from comparing Apple to Adolf Hitler. Let’s see how Apple chooses to retaliate if it does retaliate actually.
