Alia gives some terrific positive vibes to new mothers through her words! Read on to find out!
Alia Bhatt is one of the newest mothers in B town along with Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu. Just like every mother’s journey is different during pregnancy, every mother’s journey is different post-partum too! But there are some common factors in every mother’s life. Alia, who gave birth to her daughter Raha on 6th November 2022 and she is back to her fitness routine. While talking about fitness and motherhood and postpartum emotional challenges, Alia had some really good things to say. Though she started training again just after one and half months of her delivery, she says the motive was no longer to look sexy. Her perception about her body and fitness and looking hot changed a lot after becoming a mother, even her priorities have also changed. She said: “Now when I work out, I don’t do it to become thin or make my waist look smaller. I do it to be healthy. The idea is to be fit and not starve yourself by following some unhealthy diet. I made a decision to never be hard on myself even if there’s extra bloating or chubbiness here and there. I am going to celebrate it. I won’t torture myself. Just take effort to remain healthy, like eat your veggies, include protein in your diet, do yoga and go for a walk. Do basic things to be healthy. Take a moment to appreciate yourself.”
Stressing on body positivity she said that the mantra for every woman and mother out there should ‘listen to your body’! According to her, women generally put a lot of pressure on themselves after becoming a mother. Addressing all the new mothers, she said: “So many pieces have to come together and things need to go right for you to bring a baby into the world. I want you to appreciate your body for keeping you safe during that time. It’s not just about getting back in shape, but building your immunity, and then, everything will follow. I really want to talk about this. A lot of women struggle with their new appearance post pregnancy. They tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves to get back to looking a certain way. Everyone wants to lose weight and I can relate to that.”

She went on to reveal that she is a foodie and loves eating so she never follows any fad diets where she has to give up her favourite foods because food does not just give you nutrients, it also makes you happy. So blindly following diets and depriving oneself form the pleasure of eating their favourite food is not right. Eat everything but in moderation especially when you are a new mother. Food is sometimes a great comfort. So don’t give up on food. Start exercising at your on pace and never be in a hurry to look a certain way because the society demands so! Take your own sweet time and let your body and mind heal properly and happily!
