5 Bollywood Movies which had failed terribly in the VFX department!
Visual effects (VFX) have become an essential part of filmmaking, and Bollywood is no exception. However, not all Bollywood films that use VFX are created equal. Some films have used VFX so poorly that they have become infamous for their bad special effects. Here are 5 films that failed miserably at VFX:
1 Jaani Dushma : Ek Anokhi Prem Kahani (2002)

The film revolves around the age old folklores of snakes who are lovers and one of whom gets killed. The other snake then exacts revenge. The film had an ensemble cast with big names like Aksshay Kumar, Sunny Deol, Armaan Kohli, Maniesha Koirala, etc. But the story of the film and the special effects were so terrible that it turned out to be a comedy in some of the scenes.
2 Rudraksh (2004)

We have to admit that Jaani Dushmann’s competition for worst CGI effects was fierce. A special mention should go to the movie Rudraksh, starring Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Bipasha Basu, and Esha Koppikar, for making the most of green screens. But gradually, it developed into a fantastic comedic film. Everything else about the film—laboratories, computerised Himalayas, a rudraksha locked in a shoddy VFX box, the hypnotising rat—will make you uneasy.
3 Mohenjo Daro (2016)

By 2016, the VFX around the world had become so amazing that it was tough to imagine a movie like this where the VFX just sucked. Just as we began to believe that Bollywood was improving its use of special effects in historical dramas, along comes Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro. The movie’s long-anticipated crocodile combat scene lacked any realism. First of all, a crocodile can’t jump that high, especially in water. In addition, the crocodile appeared to be performing a dolphin dance, which clearly wasn’t a crocodile assault. Steve Irwin won’t be at all pleased about this!
4 Flying Jatt (2016)

We thought we could have our very own sweet innocent, desi superhero when Tiger Shroff appeared in the ‘Flying Jatt’. BUt the film’s story and the VFX were so bad that the audiences were left disappointed. All the scenes involving Tiger Shroff flying were so terrible that you couldn’t help but cringe. Making a superhero movie with such hideous VFX is definitely a crime.
5 Drive (2019)

The story revolves around a car-loving gang pulling off absolutely mind-boggling heists (I mean, they are mind-bogglingly stupid!) and their efforts to steal a ton of black money from the vault inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Then a guy called Samar enters that gang to foil and/or support their plan. The film had nothing – no story, no direction, no substance, horrible dialogues and on top of it the terrible VFX. One critic had famously dubbed the VFX as ” eye-gougingly appalling”. It is hard to imagine that how can someone create such horrendous VFX in the year 2019?? All the car scenes looked like a video game and that too a sub standard video game.
Have you seen any of these movies? If yes, which one do you think had the worst CGI and VFX?
