Evolution of Aviation Technology
Today the aviation industry with its state of the art commercial flights and fighter jets can be surmised as truly hi-tech. But that feat has been achieved through an array of challenging situations and corresponding technological innovations. From the first balloon flight in the first half on eighteenth century to the first commercial jet to the first aerial bomber, it really has been star studded history with a gamut of surprising innovations in a short span of modern history. Obviously many of these milestones changed the aviation and our approach to aerial movement forever. Here we would pick up 5 such great milestones in the evolution of aviation technology.
First powered and manned flight (1903)
It was in a cold day of December 1903 that modern aviation was born with the first successful flight of manned and powered flight. The Wright brothers not only gave the world one of its most formidable achievements in technology but actually changed the course of modern transport and in a way the fate of the human race for the time to come. In this precise day, the modern aviation actually began which would soon be followed by huge interest and research in flight technology by various people, groups and institutions.
The Jet Flight began (1939)
Fast-paced modern flights are just unthinkable without a turbojet engine. British aviation expert first saw the immense possibility of a turbojet engine in making the flight speed faster than the traditional ones. His experiments led to the invention of first jet plane. At the same time in Germany a similar engine built by Hans Von Ohain which was put to use in Flight He 178 by aeronautical engineer Ernst Heinkel in 1939. The era of jet planes began from this precise day. This is probably the biggest achievement in aviation technology and this would be the most important scientific accomplishment for the beginning of commercial aviation in the time to come.
Fully Equipped Modern Helicopter (1940)

Though the helicopter was developed and flown in air long before by several engineers, all of them were actually not practically complete and equipped to make the flight possible in all circumstances. The model of helicopter that was developed by Sikrosky in 1940 had been practically balanced and equipped for a sustainable flight experience and all modern helicopters actually were modeled after that. This was the beginning of the modern helicopter.
